History of Sustainable Development Goals
Sustainable Development Goals On 25-27 September 2015, the UN General Assembly (United Nations) was held. This session was attended by hundreds of heads of government and heads of state. From the session scheduled in New York, the idea of SDGs or Sustainable Development Goals was agreed upon during the 2015-2030 period.
The SDGs are also a continuation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which were agreed upon in 2000 and ended in 2015. If the MDGs have made a significant contribution from the period of 15 years, then these SDGs are also proclaimed for the next 15 years, namely until 2030. If the MDGs have 8 goals, then in these SDGs there are 17 goals which are then divided by 169 targets and around 300 indicators.
Then, the question is what are these SDGs? In short, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the renewal of goals and indicators that are universal targets agreed upon by countries that are members of the United Nations.
